For the purposes of applicable data protection and privacy laws, Normandie Université (“we”, “us”, “our”), whose registered office is located at Esplanade de la Paix CS 14032 – 14032 CAEN Cedex 5, is considered the “Data Controller” of the Personal Data that it collects, uses and manages in accordance with this Privacy Policy (the “Policy”).
Protecting your privacy is important to us. We are committed to protecting all Personal Data provided to us, whether from people we work with, visitors and users of our websites, or any other source. Personal Data is information relating to an identified or identifiable living individual.

Who do we collect Personal Data from?
We may occasionally collect Personal Data from different individuals during our business activities, including:

How do we collect your Personal Data ?
We obtain Personal Data that you knowingly and voluntarily provide to us, both online and offline. We collect Personal Data when you:

Legal basis for the processing of your personal data by Normandie Université

In accordance with the purposes for which we collect and use your personal data, as described above, the legal basis for processing your personal data will generally be one of the following:

Who do we share your personal data with?
We may share your personal data with people within Normandie Université who need to know it for business, technical or legal reasons, for example to carry out an administrative task such as processing an invoice, or to address a request you have submitted to the relevant department of Normandie Université.
We may disclose your personal data to third parties, including authorities, our advisors, our IT service providers and third parties we engage to provide the services you request;
Protect intellectual property rights in any content displayed or otherwise available on our websites; seek legal or other professional advice; respond to a legal request or comply with a legal obligation; and enforce our Website Usage Rules.
We may disclose your personal data to third parties in the event of the sale, purchase or merger of any business or assets, including to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets.
We may share the personal data you submit to us with any entity within Normandie Université. These entities are required to maintain the confidentiality of your data and are not authorized to use it for purposes other than those described in this Policy.
Finally, we may share non-personal data with third parties not described above. In doing so, we may aggregate or de-identify the information so that a third party cannot associate it with you, your computer, or your device. Aggregation is the process of combining non-personal data from multiple individuals so that the data does not relate to any specific individual. De-identification is the process of removing or modifying certain information that could be used to associate data with a specific individual.
Security
We take all reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, accidental loss and unauthorized access, destruction, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. We make every effort to protect your personal data, but unfortunately, the transmission of information over the internet is not completely secure. We cannot guarantee the security of your personal data, and any transmission of your data is at your own risk.
Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our websites, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share it with anyone. If you fail to keep your password confidential and this results in a breach of security, we cannot be held liable for any loss or other harm to your personal data.
Your rights
Applicable data privacy legislation grants individuals certain rights regarding personal data held by organizations. If you wish to:
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you; or
- Request the rectification, deletion, or restriction of processing of your personal data, provided that no contract is currently in effect,

Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in our website and, where applicable, in the content we publish on it remain our property or that of our licensors, including all copyright, patents, trademarks, trade names and designs, whether registered or not, as well as the appearance of our website. Please note in particular that the Normandie Université and Normandie Valorisation logos, which may appear on the website, are registered trademarks belonging to Normandie Université and may not be used without the prior written permission of the relevant owner.
You may print copies and may download extracts of any page(s) from our website for your personal use. However, you must not modify the paper or digital copies of any materials you have printed off or downloaded in any way (unless expressly stated otherwise in the relevant materials), and you must not use any illustrations, photographs, video or audio sequences or any graphics separately from any accompanying text.
Our status (and that of any identified contributors) as the authors of content on our website must always be acknowledged.
You must not use any part of the content on our website for commercial purposes without obtaining a license from us or our licensors, as applicable.
If you print off, copy or download any part of our website in breach of these rules, your right to use our website will cease immediately and you must, at our option, return or destroy any copies of the materials you have made.

Glossary
Data Controller: The party that determines the purposes and means of data processing.
Data Protection Authority: The competent supervisory authority for privacy or data protection matters within the jurisdiction of Normandy University;
Personal Data: Information relating to an identified or identifiable individual (i.e., data concerning employees, contractors, applicants, employees of vendors and suppliers, subcontractors, customers, and individuals who use our websites). This includes names, addresses, email addresses, applications, user account information, and correspondence. Personal Data may also include web browsing information (e.g., data associated with a specific cookie) and IP addresses, when this information can be linked to an individual.
Processing : Any operation performed with personal data ; this includes collecting, storing, accessing, combining with other data, sharing with a third party, or even deleting it.
